It is an alfalfa variety with a very good leaf-to-stem ratio. The leaves are long and wide, oval-shaped. The stem is thin, and long during flowering. The flower is dark blue/purple. The plant height is very tall (in the third week after the first cutting it is approximately 49 cm). The flowering period is medium. This variety is adapted to all types of soil, being suitable even for water-scarce areas. It has optimal resistance to lodging and excellent protein content and very good digestibility. It is suitable for frequent cuttings due to its rapid regeneration after cutting. Pomposa alfalfa lasts up to 4 years in the soil, having excellent resistance even in winter, as well as to wear. It has a production potential of up to 16-17 t/ha dry matter.
